Diploma of Family Medicine

Transforming Healthcare Through Education

Access to quality primary healthcare is vital, yet many communities in low- and middle-income countries lack trained family physicians. Primary healthcare meets up to 90% of health needs over a person’s lifetime, significantly improving health outcomes and life expectancy. The International Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine (I-PGDFM) bridges this critical gap by equipping qualified doctors with further skills to deliver comprehensive, whole-person care to families and communities.

This innovative two-year program blends online modules, practical training, and mentoring, allowing participants to continue practicing medicine while advancing their education. Since its launch in 2020, 190 students from 50 countries have enrolled, and the program is being launched in 2025 in Spanish, French, and Russian with 20 students in each language group making it more accessible than ever.

Diploma of Healthcare Management

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical need for strong healthcare systems and effective leadership. In many low- and middle-income countries, mission hospitals played a vital role where other healthcare systems struggled to respond effectively. Young healthcare professionals often found themselves in leadership roles with limited training but rose to the challenge, demonstrating the urgent need for structured education in healthcare management.

To address this, the Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Management is being launched to equip healthcare workers in low-resource settings with the skills needed to strengthen health systems, manage hospitals, and respond to future pandemics. This two-year, blended learning program combines online interactive modules, monthly webinars, peer discussions, mentoring, and practical learning at secondary hospitals, covering five core areas: health system strengthening, hospital management, disaster response, leadership, and working with disadvantaged communities.

Support Scholarships and Expand Impact

We aim to sponsor 50 students in the program’s first year, with the goal of doubling to 100 students in the second year. Each means-tested scholarship costs up to $1,000 USD per student, ensuring equitable access for healthcare professionals in less-developed countries.

The Impact of Your Support

By sponsoring students, you will:

  • Equip healthcare leaders with essential skills in healthcare management, enabling them to lead effectively in challenging environments.
  • Strengthen healthcare systems to deliver improved care and better prepare for future pandemics.
  • Enhance the capacity of mission hospitals and other healthcare institutions to serve disadvantaged communities.

Your support will directly impact global healthcare, empowering leaders to build resilient systems that save lives. Join us in transforming healthcare in low-resource settings by sponsoring a student today.
