The Anguganak Healthy Mother Project is dedicated to a noble cause – reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Our approach involves collaborating closely with local Health Service Teams and remote communities, particularly in the Anguganak region.

In many rural areas of PNG, women have traditionally given birth without access to skilled assistance, resulting in distressingly high maternal and infant mortality rates. Our mission is to bring about a transformative change. We accomplish this by delivering crucial training for village birth attendants and health care professionals, encouraging essential antenatal care and promoting family planning choices. We distribute clean birth kits, neonatal resuscitation equipment, and incentive gift bags to enhance outcomes. Furthermore, we support girls' education by supplying Days for Girls (DfG) kits, enabling girls to attend school with confidence, even during menstruation.

Anguganak, situated in the West Sepik Province, plays a pivotal role in facilitating our efforts. We collaborate closely with local partners, such as the Christian Brethren Health Service, to address a range of challenges faced by the community. This includes the refurbishment of critical facilities, including the hospital ward, as well as securing essential resources like a gravity-fed water supply. Our commitment to sustained engagement underscores our ethos that meaningful and lasting change requires dedicated time, unwavering commitment, and robust partnerships. Join us in this essential endeavour to make a significant difference in Papua New Guinea's healthcare landscape.
