Dear HealthServe Australia members, partners, and friends,
We thank you for your support for our Christmas and New Year appeal. The beneficiaries will be communities in Ukraine and South Sudan. This is a year where we can reflect on God’s goodness. As Charles Spurgeon said, “Remember the goodness of God in the frost of adversity”.
2023 is our ‘Year of GOODNESS!’ How might God transform us and our organisation, friends and partners as we focus on this theme of ‘Goodness’ as we seek to relieve illness, disease, distress, suffering and poverty? Let us be reminded of the scriptures when they encourage us: “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8). “Those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.” (Titus 3:8).

Raising money for doctors to travel
In this next year we are planning to sponsor doctors from resource poor settings to attend an inspiring World Congress; learn more at our website page.
Maternal and child health
We seek to continue to address maternal and child health challenges in resource poor settings. And we continue to work in partnership in many programs to relieve poverty, illness, distress and suffering. Watch our session with Medina Lamunu who talks about our upcoming Maternal and Child Health program in South Sudan.
Challenges ahead in PNG
We also welcome you to listen to our session with Dr David Mills, the 2022 ICMDA Dignity and Right to Health award recipient speaking on his work and the challenges ahead in Papua New Guinea in maternal and child health and other areas.
Thanks to all our partners, members and supporters as we reflect on opportunities in this Year of Goodness.
Building health, hope and wholeness,
Dr Michael Burke
